The City of Bryan's Community Development
Advisory Committee will host their regular public meeting at 6pm
at the Project Unity Community Room (1300 Beck Street.) This
community provides a public forum for citizens to give input on
community needs.
The Somerfest Committee will be having a
meeting in Somerville at the pavilion at Overlook Park at 5pm to
plan events like the antique car show, live music, games,
creative demonstrations and vendor booths.
May 9
The Lee County Sheriff Posse Rodeo will
be held at the Lee Co. Sheriff's Posse Covered Arena in Giddings
this Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm. Come see all of your
favorite events like saddle bronc riding, bull riding, steer
wrestling, team roping and barrel racing! The 9am-Noon CPRA Team
Roping is FREE to the public!
Brenham will be hosting its 118th Maifest
starting with the Junior Parade at 10:30am on the Square with
the Coronation Ceremony at Fireman's Park & Stadium at
7:30pm. There will be German music, children's carnivals, and
festival food!

Giddings is proud to host the American
Veterans Traveling Tribute May 15-19. The exhibit will be on 24
hr. display at the Giddings High School Football Stadium on U.S.
Hwy 77N. Volunteers and veterans are invited to assist with
exhibit activities with volunteer orportunities!
May 17
The Tap on Harvey Road in College Station will
be hosting "Kristi's BBQ Benefit Bash" at 6pm. In Nov.
26, 2006 Kristi Keesler was diagnosed with a rare cancer
tumor...but she WON! The battle is half way over as the Keesler
family is left with mountains of medical bills. Join us for
Kristi's BBQ Benefit Bash at the Tap. We will have "World
Famous" Dirty's BBQ, a silent auction, a live auction, and
live Texas Country Music!
The Round Top-Warrenton Volunteer Fire
Department will have their feast and fund-raiser at the Round
Top Rifle Association Hall beginning at 4pm. There will be BBQ
beef and pork and dessert! There will be a auction at 6pm and
other amusements. All proceeds go toward the purchase of
equipment, maintenance of equipment, insurance premiums,
operations, and personal training.

"Food for Senior's Pets" program is in need of
donated pet food. To donate dog/cat food for the

Way’s Financial Stability Partnership is offering free
tax help to hard working individuals and their families.
The tax site will be open January 15-April 12th
on Tuesday and Thursday evenings 5:30-730 and Saturdays
from 9am-1pm at the Center for Regional Services (old
Winn-dixie). Dial 2-1-1 for more information or to make an
appointment.
