DISTRIBUTION CENTER FOR VICTIMS OF BASTROP CO FIRES

The distribution center is located at 210 Main Street in Smithville. The center at the old Winn's/Dollar General is currently accepting donations of all kinds--clothing, shoes, toiletry items, diapers, blankets, bags, etc. Basically everything except food. The front of the store will be open for people who are needing items, the BACK is for dropping off these items. DONATION CENTERS FOR VICTIMS OF WILD FIRES

The Washington County Ladies Lions Club will be delivering donations to Paige, Texas, on Friday to the victims of the recent wildfires. Donations are being collected at Parts and More on South Day Street in Brenham and The Brenham Heritage Museum. Original deadline has been extended through the weekend (Sunday, October 16). Items needed: clothing, shoes, blankets, cleaning items, small kitchen appliances, ice chests, etc. Contact Lion Virginia Boeker at 979-836-4449 for more info. 

The Fastenal Stores in Brenham, Giddings and Waller are taking donations for wildfire victims. Teams from all their locations will be meeting periodically to share donations to areas most in need. Suggested items include: food, toiletries, baby items, clothes, cages for animals, pet food, etc. 

Brookshire Brothers in Giddings is taking donations for fire victims in the area and fire fighters.

Lee County General Store in Giddings is accepting donations of water and non-perishable food items only for area fire victims

HEB Brenham is accepting donations for fire victims in Bastrop and Columbus

El Cerrito Animal Clinic at 1730 Barak Lane in Bryan, is collecting pet food, hay, kitty litter, blankets, livestock feed, etc and monetary donations for the pets and livestock victims in Bastrop and Leon Counties. Call 979-846-7771 for more info.

 

EMERGENCY DISASTER AREA FOR LARGE ANIMALS

Room for animals is available at the Lee County Sheriff's Posse Arena in Giddings. They can help move big animals to the arena, but resources are low so they can only go North and East of the Bastrop fire. RV hook-ups are available also. They are in need of donations of hay and cattle cubes, and can pick up any large donations. Call 512-429-0532 for more info or assistance.

The Guadalupe County Fairgrounds is an emergency disaster area for large animals. They can house over 150 horses, cattle, sheep, swine, etc. If anyone needs help, please contact the City of Seguin, they will contact GCFA to make arrangements. 

If you need safe pasture for your horses due to wildfires in Texas, call Matt or Jessica Daniel at 832-769-1879. They can has pasture up to shelter 60 horses and have trucks and trailers ready to go.  Can move 10 horses at a time. They have acreage in Houston, Seguin, and near Canyon Lake.

Travis Co. Expo Center - 512 854-4900. They have set up 50 stalls outside behind the outside arena. Water is available, someone will be available to take your call and unlock the gate as needed.
